Diplo dives deep into new country persona in 'So Long' visual [Watch]
Diplo, a jack of all genres, and even a master of a few, rounds out his recent his foray into country music with a new visual for the Cam-assisted “So Long.” The first single to gain a release under the newly forged Thomas Wesley project, “So Long” preceded Diplo’s appearance at Indio Valley’s Stagecoach Music Festival. From the cowboy hats that Diplo dons, to the dancing and the visual aesthetics, the official music video fully embraces the culture of the genre.
Diplo’s characteristic penchant for unpredictability extends to the music video, where Diplo transitions from taking shots with celebrated Mayor of Flavortown, Guy Fieri, to dancing alongside “Old Town Road‘s” Lil Nas X. The production exudes the carefree sense of summer fun, reflected in the stylized candid scenes and snippets of Diplo’s Stagecoach performance that collectively comprise the music video.
