Armin van Buuren takes on Van Halen's classic 'Jump' in new remix
Armin van Buuren was just 7 years old when iconic American rock band Van Halen‘s soon-to-be-hit single, “Jump,” hit the airwaves. Though he was young at the time, the Dutch producer clearly harbors a love for the seminal song and has taken on the task of remixing it as his latest release.
As one would expect, van Buuren’s put a trance-influenced spin on the power ballad, leaning into its instantly recognizable synth melodies. He gives the track a pounding bass backbone, priming it for nightclubs and festivals.
Fans of the 1983 original likely won’t be offended by the song’s revival in the format van Buuren’s created, since it largely remains true to its ’80s roots. At the same time, though, van Buuren’s brought the track into 2019 and made it more accessible for today’s dance music fans.
