Pioneer DJ and Virgil Abloh release rare one-off DJ setup

Louis Vuitton shoe designer Virgil Abloh has collaborated with industry leader Pioneer DJ for a one-off set of decks and mixer that has us reminiscing the days of see-through Gameboys.

While it’s nothing groundbreaking, the transparent CDJ-2000NXS2’s and DJM-900NXS2 do offer something a little more when it comes to the imagination and a step away from the always default black set-ups you see in the clubs.

Those wanting to get their hands on them are in for some disappointing news with the one-off pieces only appearing at Virgil’s Figures Of Speech exhibition at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art from 10th June to 22nd September.

The actor and Off White label founder spoke on the TRANSPARENT collaboration telling Pioneer DJ the decks offer a  “different sound while DJing. And perhaps a new way for music technology and human interaction to equal a different result.”⁣.

While we don’t quite get what’s he on about there, especially given it’s a standard bit of kit, we’re all about at least the potential for these things to head to stores.
