La Roux unveils first song in five years, 'International Woman of Leisure' – EDM All Day
La Roux (Eleanor Jacksonhas returned to dance music earshot with “International Woman of Leisure,” marking her first release in five years. The new track precedes her forthcoming, third album Supervision due February 7, 2020 Supercolour Records. The electro-pop artist first rose to prominence as a duo with Ben Langmaid. They broke onto the scene with their 2009 debut album La Roux which garnered both a Grammy and coinciding hit singles including “Bulletproof” and “In For the Kill.” Despite Langmaid’s departure in 2014, Jackson continued to perform and write as the sole member of La Roux.
Channeling exuberant pop energy, “International Woman of Leisure” boasts La Roux’s signature falsetto and vibrant production. Jackson sings, “‘Cause I’m an international woman of leisure / Oh, you want me to go on? It’s my pleasure / And now I can feel the change in the weather / Oh, where I’m goin’ / I know it’s much better.” The accompanying music video draws inspiration from ’60s spy aesthetics and features Jackson as the head of the “I.W.O.L” agency amidst retro styles and vibrant colors.
La Roux will embark on a North American tour starting March 2, 2020 in support of Supervision. Tickets are available now here.
