Tame Impala perform 'Lost in Yesterday' and 'Breathe Deeper' on Jimmy Kimmel [Watch]
Tame Impala has had an explosive 2020 album release, relieving fans from a five-year wait. Entitled The Slow Rush, the album is frontman Kevin Parker’s first LP since 2015’s Currents, a commercial success in its own right that established Tame Impala’s lead on the psychedelic side of alternative rock music.
In addition to a string of singles and video for “Lost In Yesterday,” there’s been substantial content surrounding the album rollout. This includes a chat with famed radio DJ Zane Lowe on Apple Music, a behind-the-scenes “Time Warp” in Parker’s personal studio, and virtual billboard‘s from YouTube Music. Now, the Australian act’s latest endeavor takes Parker and his live band to late night television on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The band performed album single “Lost In Yesterday” as well an almost six-minute live take on “Breathe Deeper” despite the show’s time limits. While Kimmel performances are generally intimate and small in nature, the light fixtures and trippy background visuals give it some unique production value.
Reaching #1 for the first time on Billboard’s Top Rock albums chart as well as debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200, Tame Impala will carry a lot of steam heading into a 2020 tour through North America, Australia, and New Zealand with special guests Clairo, MGMT, and more.
