M.I.A. returns from a brief retirement with a vengeance, spontaneously dropping a new track on her Patreon account early Monday morning. Titled “M.I.A OHMNI W202091,” M.I.A.’s return from, well… being M.I.A. is an instant throwback to the gritty, politically charged hip-hop that facilitated both the Sri-Lanken singer’s meteoric rise to fame and her perennial fanbase since.

“M.I.A OHMNI W202091” is performed by M.I.A., but is fittingly produced by moombahton tastemaker, Munchi, whose raw, Latin and bass-inspired sound makes for the perfect complement to M.I.A.’s in your face style. Although she announced that her previous album would be her last, M.I.A.’s newest single is expected to be the first from an album dropping later this year.
