RayRay & Teknoclash – Time Is Over

• Brutal, hard-hitting composition
• Irreverent vocal, the signature of RayRay
• Unimaginable release that made me reevaluate Spinnin’ Asia

I didn’t have high expectations about Spinnin’ Asia, considering its poppish future house debut release, “Antidote“. I saw it as a forced attempt in order to catch the attention of the Asian market, which is evidently expanding, a sort of cash-grabber sublabel. Luckily, I was wrong! Many of you guys made me notice that the Spinnin’ Asia releases are creative and interesting:‌ they are actually bringing Asian vibes in EDM with an intelligent strategy.

Today I’m reviewing the craziest Spinnin’ Asia release (for now), “Time Is Over“. Hard Psy on Spinnin’? This 2020 is full of surprises!

RayRay is a surprising producer that already impressed me with various crazy Dubstep/Hard Psy releases on Barong and MF, while Teknoclash are Dirty Workz veterans, used to this kind of Hardstyle. Their team-up is unimaginable, but it actually works. RayRay brought her brutal wobbling bassline and a unique atmosphere, and Teknoclash worked on the hardstyle structure of this unpredictable jewel. The nice little touch here is RayRay irreverent vocal, always a funny signature I hear in her works.

“Time Is Over” is a fun release that reworks Hardpsy into a slower version that gives more space to the excellent technical quality in the background in a sort of sick minimalism. There is time to enjoy the brutal kick and bass of this surprising collab. I am curious to hear how it will work live, being something new for the Spinnin’ fanbase. It could be a great weapon for closing a set, like the famous Hardstyle edit of “Rocket” by Blasterjaxx & W&W.

What’s sure, here, is that Spinnin’ Asia is promoting some Asian talent with their refreshing ideas. Let’s not undervalue it, don’t make the same mistake as me!
