His body of work reflects his growth as a producer, with music released on respected platforms such as Bosconi, Numbers, Don’t Be Afraid, and TDSR. Recently, Dukwa unveiled a fresh EP, ‘Mental Fortitude’, as part of the Club Gudu Series by Peggy Gou’s Gudu Records

To commemorate this, Dukwa reveals his top 10 tracks from the Gudu Records EP releases, offering insight into his musical influences and tastes.

1. Dukwa – Mental Fortitude – ‘Take Me Away’

‘Take Me Away’ was the first track I’ve sent to the Gudu team to start working on the new EP. I was focused on producing something new for my Live set and new dancefloor weapons for my DJing gigs and it naturally came out as it is. Simple, Fast, Powerful!”

2. Maurice Fulton – Earth EP – ‘One Itself’

“I’ve always been into Maurice Fulton’s music, I am a big fan. Love the organic drums and percussion and how the track evolves.”

3. Peggy Gou – Moment EP – ‘Starry Night’

“It was the first big record released on the label from one and only Peggy. I remember when it first came out it was a tornado. Everywhere she was playing it the crowd started cheering. MASSIVE.”

4. Brain De Palma – Purple Brain – ‘(O.W.D.) Once Were Dancers’

“One of my favourite tracks of the Gudu catalogue, Brain De Palma’s distinctive sound is really on show on here!”

5. Dea – Glazer Drum EP – ‘Glazer Drum’

“Perfect track to start the night, with old drum sounds and acid-driven basslines. HUGE!”

6. JRMS – Bullseye EP – ‘Solo’

“When it first came out, at the time I think this track defined the sound of the label – acid-pop-techno-ambient. Loved the raw approach on this one.”

7. Dukwa – Matter of Time – ‘Nuvola’

“This was my first EP on Gudu so for me, it’s something magic. I couldn’t pick my favourite but if I had to it would probably be ‘Nuvola’. It reminds me of the cloudy days in Florence, instant memory for me.”

8. Various Artists – Gudu & Friends Vol. 1 – ‘Time Out’ Catania (Sicily) 2019

“I supported Peggy in her debut show at Afro Bar. I was playing ‘Time Out’ live as the last track before her. She loved it and a few months later she signed it for this V.A.”

9. Matisa – Tongue – ‘Lusia’

“One of my Favourite tracks from Matisa. For me, it showcases her signature sound and taste. Really cool track!”

10. DMX Krew – Return to Jupiter – ‘Altered Chords’ No words needed.

“Huge fan of DMX Crew! STOP!”
