Kasablanca x Lane 8 Deliver New Song, “Remission”
After making a heartwarming return to the stage at Ultra Music Festival, the DJ and production duo Kasablanca is gearing up for a powerful comeback after one-half of the progressive/melodic techno act, Micky Kasablanca received a shocking cancer diagnosis in 2023 while on their second-ever headline tour.
Facing the battle with the same intensity he brings to his craft, Micky performed through the pain until urgently undergoing surgery and chemotherapy. Now, awaiting news of remission, Kasablanca will debut their poignant new single “Remission” with This Never Happened’s Daniel Goldstein, better known as Lane 8.
“While I was going through treatment, I knew that when I was done, I would get to come here and play Ultra Miami with you guys and I can’t tell you how happy I am that I made it here today. I don’t have a clean bill of health yet. I’m hoping to get that in two weeks, but we decided to call this song “Remission” in hopes that I’m going to get it.” – Micky
“Remission” is an emotional track that serves as a powerful beacon of hope. For Micky we know what his message is, but we can imagine that this track serves for others as a a rally cry to pick yourself up and make you fight for the things you love and value. “Remission” is riddled with Ajunabeats goodness. We can see this track being the highlight of many sets this year. “Remission” is out now on all mayor streaming platforms.
Micky Kasablanca’s life changed in early-2024, when he was suddenly diagnosed with cancer. After his diagnosis and an emergency surgery, the Kasablanca duo adjusted their touring plans while Micky battled the cancer by undergoing aggressive chemotherapy regimen. At the end of February, he shared news of his completed treatment on social media but noted he still had a “long road to recovery as I wait for news of remission.”
