DJ and techno pioneer, Richie Hawtin, will unveil DEX EFX X0X, a significant advancement in electronic music, at the 2024 Movement Festival in Detroit on May 26th and Sónar Barcelona on June 14th.
DEX EFX X0X demonstrates Hawtin’s dedication to electronic music. It emphasizes digital manipulation, a hallmark of Hawtin’s DJ sets, and adheres to the principles of his Decks, EFX & 909 series by utilizing advanced performance tools. This innovation embodies the past and future of DJing.
“Moving away from the current trend of shows giving the priority to the image rather than sound, DEX EFX X0X brings the audience back into an immersive sound & lighting experience. More club than concert. DEX EFX X0X continues my personal exploration of improvisation using modern performance technology resulting in a unique sonic narrative for each and every show.” Hawtin states.
Jason Huvaere, co-founder and Festival Director of the Movement Music Festival, expressed excitement to host DEX EFX X0X, referring to Hawtin as one of the most innovative artists of our generation. Enric Palau, Co-Director of Sónar Festival, echoed these sentiments, applauding Hawtin’s constant progression.
