Skyline Glasgow kick off its autumn season with Dave Seaman’s Seladoria
On September 22nd.
Skyline Glasgow is kicking off the autumn season with a special event led by Dave Seaman and his Seladoria concept, accompanied by Hannes Bieger (Live), Steve Parry, Kasey Taylor, and Tara Brooks.
When it comes to booking policy this club has a USP focusing on breaking new talent alongside bringing in some of the best talents worldwide, to create one-of-a-kind lineups. This double-headed approach means they have a completely different feel to other parties, the excitement of hearing a new emerging talent from South America or a far-flung European spot alongside the certainty of knowing a favorite iconic superstar is topping the bill.
The fact the bookings are so opportune is the pedigree of its promoter and curator Graham Chalmers, with line-ups hitting the mark time after time.
On September 22nd, Skyline welcomes back veteran, icon and long-standing cohort of the exclusive Glasgow sky party, Dave Seaman and his Seladoria concept.
Inspired by his esteemed record label which he helms with Steve Parry, Seladoria brings some of the artists from the label to clubs around the world – but few are happy to go as deep as Skyline do, delving into the stable’s discography and selecting artists who have yet to play the UK or Scotland.
As Graham says, “Why have the geniuses behind a label like Selador in the RED Sky Bar and not invite them to play alongside the producers behind some of the most exciting tunes on the label?.
Sure there‘s a risk in relying heavily on DJs and producers who are not yet massive names in Scotland, but they have made music I love and I want to hear them play – and I think the Skyliners do too, they may just not know it yet.”
So for our next party we have the second live act ever to play on the rooftop – After Robert Babicz at the last Selador event we’ve now invited the incredible Hannes Bieger to perform ahead of the release of his new album which we’re very excited about.
Kasey Taylor also joins us, a heavyweight of the Australian scene who has been running Vapour Recordings and has been hugely influential in pushing progressive house down under for 30 years. This will be his Scottish debut.
Also, we have Tara Brooks on the bill, a firm favorite of John Digweed and Bedrock but has never played in the UK, until now. We are delighted to be her very first British gig.
And then of course, Dave Seaman is still touring on the back of his Balance album which we officially launched the last time he played here, and Steve has just released ‘Won’t You Believe?’ On Selador which is epic and a personal current favorite”
When we collaborate on a party with a brand, DJ or label, it’s not just a badging exercise with logos and some décor – it’s really getting deep into their world and who they are. This is a real deep dive into Selador. We are following the wabbit and then some. It’s the Skyline way,” he commented.
Skyline continues to break boundaries and blow tradition out of the water – this is a party for lovers of good music, simple as that. No wonder visionary Dave Seaman – a groundbreaker for longer than most can remember – is a fan.
As Seaman says, “For me, it’s the best Sunday party in the UK. The best sound with a really knowledgable, up-for-it crowd plus that famous Skyline hospitality to boot. A box ticker on every level.”
Selador x Skyline Part 2 all goes off at Radisson RED Glasgow on September 22nd, 2024.
