The leading dance music publication, DJ Mag, is shifting from its monthly magazine format to four premium quarterly editions a year starting January 2025. This transition aims to create a more premium and collectible experience for readers.
Each quarterly issue will feature three cover stars, ensuring a wide range of artists are celebrated, while adding a collectible element for readers. While subscribers will receive one of the three covers at random, all cover features will be included in each edition. The quarterly magazines will also see an increased page count and higher paper quality, making the magazine more visually appealing and valuable for collectors.
DJ Mag’s editor, Carl Loben, expressed his excitement about this new phase of the magazine:
“Along with the rest of the team, I’m excited to be bringing DJ Mag into its next phase of evolution. Electronic dance music is a perpetually exciting movement, forever changing, and is now bigger globally than ever. As the flagship publication, this new quarterly edition will allow us to increase focus on the in-depth, discerning, internationally relevant long-form features DJ Mag has specialised in for many years. I can’t wait to get cracking!”

Since its launch in 1991 to cover the emerging UK rave scene, DJ Mag has become a prominent voice in dance music. Originally a fortnightly magazine, then monthly, the latest transition to a quarterly format marks another significant milestone in the magazine’s evolution.
The quarterly edition will be available on newsstands at £7.99 per issue, or via a 12-month subscription priced at £27.99, a saving of over £1 per issue. Current subscribers to the monthly edition will receive a two-year complimentary subscription to the quarterly version.
The final monthly edition of DJ Mag will be the next one, the November Top 100 DJs issue. The first quarterly magazine will be released in January 2025.
