A Mad Decent Block Party festival looks likely
From the looks of Mad Decent Block Party Festival’s Twitter account, Diplo‘s drive to grow his Mad Decent Block Party event series into a larger scale two-day festival will presumably pay off, to yield the first-ever Mad Decent Block Party Festival. Although Diplo originally eyed Brockton, Massachusetts as the potential site of the inaugural festival, city lawmakers voiced their opposition to the event. The Brockton chief of police stated that the affair would be “way too big to handle,” and Brockton’s mayor and three city council members followed suit, rejecting Diplo’s bid for a Brockton-based Mad Decent Block Party Festival.
While the specifics regarding just how and where Mad Decent Block Party Festival will transcend aspiration to come to fruition is currently unclear, it appears that Diplo will indeed tailor his celebrated event brand, to turn the multi-city block parties into a festival format. Mad Decent Block Party Festival recently tweeted a brief video, captioned “IT’S HAPPENING.” The cartoon Major Lazer inspired announcement video didn’t disclose any further details, but the “it” in question can only be in reference to a Mad Decent Block Party festival. The Mad Decent team has not made an official announcement regarding the tweet.
