Above & Beyond release their long-coveted 'Blue Monday' edit

After a seven year wait, Above & Beyond have released their cover of New Order‘s classic single, “Blue Monday” on none other than the third Monday of January, otherwise known as Blue Monday. The Anjunabeats bosses debuted the remake at their sold-out 2013 Alexandra Palace show in London and continued to ignite stages internationally with the closely-guarded track—taking one of club music’s biggest anthems and rebranding it into their own arsenal. Since its first appearance, fans have long-awaited the track’s official release, which now arrives in coincidence with Anjunabeats’ milestone twentieth anniversary.

Injecting New Order’s Platinum-certified hit with modern electronic sound design, Above & Beyond’s “Blue Monday” rendition features member Jono’s vocals and revitalizes the iconic riff with their touch of trance intensity. The result sees the UK trio deploy punchy drum pads, lengthy buildups, and electrifying synths in an edit that meshes the original’s indie-disco spirit with progressive styles.
