Afrojack has set August 31 as the delivery date for what’s shaping up to be a huge brainchild. He’s assembled 14 of his productions — released and unreleased — and assembled them into an EP dubbed Press Play. The expansive project is meant to show off the Grammy-winning producer’s diverse talents as an artist, featuring sounds and collaborators across the spectrum of dance music that will please a wide mass of fans. Press Play will will naturally be released through the iconic producer’s affiliate label, Wall Recordings.
The EP isn’t the only surprise Afrojack was waiting to let loose — the Wall Recordings family is swelling in size. He set out alongside Japanese brand Love Dream Happiness recently, hunting for four new artists to bring under his wing. This search captured German duo Jewelz & Sparks, who’ve been held in high regard since their 2012 debut.
On the newer side, he’s brought in Chasner and Disto. The 20-year-old Chasner already showed high instrumental skills by age four, which have since translated into a prosperous start in the EDM circuit. His tracks supported by the likes of Martin Garrix and beyond at twelve years-old, and at 20, he’s ready to step into his own. Disto, on the other hand, is known for his contributions to the trap and future bass world. Finally the talent formerly known as Ravitez has started anew as Chico Rose. These names are each likely to be seen around festivals and other events in which Afrojack is taking part as part of his artist-cultivating process.
A thirty-second preview of the EP awaits; in the meantime, pre-order a copy here.
