Alesso releases first new music of 2019, EP 'Progresso Volume 1'
Alesso continues to lift the bar with every successive launch. His newest effort, Progresso Volume 1, is a three-track EP that follows the Swedish DJ’s earlier smash single, 2018’s “REMEDY.” Progresso Volume 1 alerts a deliberate sonic shift from the vocal-centric building of “REMEDY,” in its foregrounding of energizing synth work and beat preparations that render every of the mixtape’s three cuts prepared for fundamental stage play.
“PROGRESSO” instantly units the tone for the mixtape. The opening tune’s chord progressions are decidedly dance-worthy, and the temporary vocal that enters on the tune’s mid-way level capabilities as a plot twist of sonic kinds that slows “PROGRESSO” to stage a momentous construct and subsequent drop.
The EP’s second inclusion, “CONFESSION,” delves into the normal affective progressive sound attribute of Alesso’s early productions. “TIME” is considerably of an outlier within the context of the three-part venture. Unlike the previous numbers, “TIME” depends on a looping vocal hook all through its run time and relaxes the sooner tempo that “PROGRESSO” and “CONFESSION” set. If any tune on the mixtape gravitates towards pop-electronic hybrid designation, it’s “TIME,” which winds down the energy-spiking displaying.
Altogether, Progresso Volume 1 is a high-intensity inaugural installment in Alesso’s new Progresso mixtape sequence.
