An Avicii biography is on its way

An Avicii biography is on its way

Famed Swedish journalist Måns Mosesson has confirmed perhaps one of his biggest undertakings to date: a full, written biography of Avicii, né Tim Bergling, which will be finished and published in 2020 with the help of Albert Bonnier Publishing Company. Mosesson will be taking the lead in the project, but will have some slight backup from other journalists as well.

Bergling passed away on April 20 by apparent suicide, following well-known documentation of mental health issues faced as an artist thrust into the spotlight and busy touring life. A more visceral look at his journey as an artist, and the trials he faced, can be seen in the 2018 documentary True Stories. Recently, Avicii’s family set up a charity fund in his name.

Of the biography, Mosesson asserted he’ll provide an “honest portrait that doesn’t shy away from the difficulties that Tim experienced.”
