Awakenings’ flagship event Upclose returns to Spaarnwoude-Park, Netherlands, for its second edition on May 17th–18th, 2025.

The 2025 lineup will showcase Detroit legend Jeff Mills, an exclusive collaboration between Donato Dozzy and Jane Fitz, and rising star KI/KI. A notable highlight features Berlin’s Ben Klock performing with Ignez—a fusion of German and Dutch electronic scenes.

The festival spans techno’s broad spectrum with distinct performances: Atsuo the Pineapple Donkey makes their Dutch debut, Luigi Tozzi presents ethereal soundscapes, and Cristian Varela joins Marco Bailey for a dynamic six-deck showcase.

While celebrating international talent, Upclose maintains strong Dutch roots. Veterans Cynthia Spiering and Benny Rodrigues represent the Netherlands’ thriving techno scene, while rising star Nelly joins the lineup, highlighting the festival’s commitment to emerging voices.

The program also includes sets by Temudo, Obscure Shape, and an experimental collaboration between Rrose and Surgeon. Special back-to-back performances from Marrøn × Rødhåd and Chris Stussy × Sally C complete the lineup. Distinguished artists Oscar Mulero, SPFDJ, and SNTS complete the roster.

These performers represent just a portion of the complete lineup, which features over 60 electronic music artists across both festival days.

Upclose distinguishes itself through an innovative format that dissolves the barrier between artists and audience, creating an immersive experience. The venue features distinct sonic spaces, each designed to amplify different styles of techno music.
