Beach House returns with a dizzying new dream pop track.
“Lemon Glow” is an endearing return for the Baltimore duo. Though it veers on the edge shoegaze and foreboding uncertainty, it’s the band in top, kaleidoscopic form as Victoria Legrand’s smokey whispers carve out a new chapter for the group.
Beach House released two albums in 2015, Depression Cherry and Thank Your Lucky Stars. Last year, they tied fans over with a b-sides collection, and with the release “Lemon Glow,” the band hasn’t missed a beat.
Accompanying “Lemon Glow” is , “Wishing everyone out there love tonight. Here is ‘Lemon Glow’” from our upcoming album, due later this spring. “
Though the message seems simple, “Lemon Glow” is arguably Beach House’s most unrefined track to date. A dense and sweet opening veers towards the end, as it turns sour and cacophonous without managing to put f listeners with its sheer injection noise. Undoubtedly, it’s a remarkable entrance into uncharted territory, and an admirable risk from a band who is primed for a big return.
