Blackchild’s NAIMA just presented its inaugural VA project, ‘Jazz Island’, featuring contributions from Solarce Brothers, Shokë, Leon Gennaro, and Skygroover.
Expanding on Blackchild’s earlier works, ‘Jazz Island’ is a four-track collection showcasing the jazz-inspired progression of NAIMA. It’s a compelling blend of jazz, funk, soul, and more, with groovy bass lines, rich keys, and engaging rhythms that cater to both reflective moments and high-energy peaks, mirroring NAIMA’s varied sonic landscape.
“This is the first time we introduce new artists’ music on NAIMA! After months of searching for the right tracks to release, I have finally compiled four songs that share a connection – jazz, funk, and the true essence of the label… something that other labels would potentially never release. ‘Cerca’ delivers a massive groove with a jazzy touch from the Solarce Brothers from Brazil, while ‘Lifestyle’ from my favorites Shöke is pure Neapolitan funk. ‘Driftwood’ by Leo showcases that classy swag from the Florida coast, and last but not least, ‘Vela’ from Skygroover adds a touch of sweetness to the EP. These tracks represent my vision of NAIMA as a label!” says Blackchild.
Founded last summer, NAIMA is not just a label but a platform for Blackchild’s creative exploration. It enables the Italian artist to delve into his favored music genres, presenting a unique auditory viewpoint.
