'Blood' arrives as the final single ahead of ILLENIUM's upcoming LP

The release date of ILLENIUM‘s third album offering, ASCEND, is just around the corner. After a slew of hype-inducing samples from the project, which have included “Pray” and “Good Things Fall Apart,” the final single ahead of release has now arrived: “Blood,” featuring Foy Vance. ILLENIUM continues the emotive motif woven into ASCEND thus far, using Vance’s silky voice to add poignant, yet hopeful touch to the gritty arrangement beneath. Notably, “Blood” is a bit on the harder side of the artist’s creative spectrum; this single takes on a dubstep form with roaring, robotic synths that clash with the gentle guitar riffs and melodies that shine outside the drops. This off-kilter combination somehow works, though, speaking to ILLENIUM’s skills as a producer.

ASCEND is out on August 16. It’s available for pre-order here.
