Branchez brings Wet's '11 Hours' to his pop universe with new remix – EDM All Day

New York-based producer Branchez has built up serious cred as a fearless remixer, and his new flip of Wet‘s “11 Hours” should only bolster that reputation. The trap/pop wiz takes on a standout from the indie duo’s second studio album, Still Run, released on Columbia Records in July.

Branchez has a remix history with some serious surprises and a breadth of approaches, most recently with a mad genius blend of party country and club-ready hip-hop for Big Wild‘s “Fourth Of July.” For “11 Hours,” he seems intent on preserving the majestic space and minimalism that defines the original, while beefing up the tempo and arrangement with pop-savvy swagger. The vocals soar over booming 808s and reverbed claps, while Skrillex-esque pitched-up vocal echoes fill out the chorus. The result is a remix that brings the spirit of the original squarely into the producer’s world of radio-friendly pop.

Fans can catch the producer in his hometown alongside LOUDPVCK at New York’s Highline Ballroom on Aug. 17.
