Canada's Ever After will be the first major music festival to let fans openly and legally smoke weed on festival grounds
Cannabis lovers can unite this year at Ever After Music Festival in Toronto, Ontario. The festival has seized the opportunity to do what no U.S.-based music festival has been able to do and allow fans to bring up to 10 grams of weed onto festival grounds legally.
Canada legalized marijuana in 2018, making festival policies like Ever After’s a non-issue compared to the U.S., where it’s up to each state to determine weed laws. The festival will be one of the first music festivals to allow attendees to openly carry and smoke weed on festival property, serving as a testing ground for the concept.
Ever After Festival has instated rules surrounding cannabis at the event, including quantities allowed and locations where people are permitted to smoke. According to festival organizers, the substance will be treated like cigarettes, meaning that there will be designated smoking areas, and the weed must be pre-rolled in order for a fan to bring it into the festival.
Ever After Music Festival has long been dubbed the Lost Lands of Canada, and fans can still purchase tickets for the event, set to take place on June 7-9, here.
