Caribou announces new album ‘Suddenly’ shares new single
‘You didn’t think I just made one track in 5 years did you?’ – isn’t a bad way to announce that there is a whole lot more Caribou on the way following the release of “Home” that dropped in October following an agonisingly long wait from the Canadian producer.
Yep, that’s right, there will be a new bubbling Caribou album for fans to dive into February next year with the announce of Mr Snaiths fifth studio album ‘Suddenly’ dropping on Inertia locally.
The 12-track release features the already shared hum dinger “Home”, but also another early track off the LP dubbed “You & I” that you can now listen to below.
Initial thoughts are setting the bar pretty damn high with a beautifully simple electronic beat with snappy drums that draw you in before exploding into a shimmering glitchy soundscape with those lovely dubbed vocals swimming throughout.
Speaking of the track Snaith says: “‘You and I’ was one of the first tracks on the album that I started and one of the last tracks I finished – it existed in some form or other throughout the whole arc of making the record. It also captures a lot of what the record, and the title of the album, are about – the track changes suddenly and unpredictably and it is about a change in my life that happened out of the blue.”
