Charli XCX announces third LP 'Charli' alongside tour dates and new music video

It’s been the better part of a decade since Charli XCX’s last full-length release, but according to the electro-pop sensation’s Instagram, her most personal LP is set for release September 13, followed by North American and international tours. Entitled Charli, the impending album features a chromatic assortment of supporting talent through names like Big Freedia, and Christine and the Queens. According to XCX, the eponymous, 15-track album will explore exceptionally intimate themes and experiences held by the artist since her 2014 LP, Sucker.

The album’s latest single, “Blame It On Your Love,” featuring near overnight songstress sensation, Lizzo, maintains the summer anthem allure that rendered her earlier hits like “Boom Clap” just so juicy, but also shows a glimpse of a new, unapologetically expressive side to the pop star’s sonic identity. A boisterous drop makes for a beat that’s not only destined for radio play, but is more than capable of turning a dancefloor inside out.
