On Thursday, March 14, the City Soul Bus that hosted the likes of Skrillex, Fred again… and Four Tet, had experienced a robbery. According to the GoFundMe fundraiser that Erin Moody established, the perpetrators robbed three CDJs, a mixer, two 15″ powered speakers and two 18″ subwoofers. The robbers also took other essential tools on that bus as well and those tools were necessary to carry on with a Riddim Bus event that will occur later this week. In the meantime, the City Soul Bus team are now trying to gather as much DJ/sound equipment as possible to make the upcoming Riddim Bus event an amazing one, even with the terrible things that just happened.

City Soul Bus, bringing awesome pop-up parties throughout NYC

Last month, City Soul Bus made waves by having Skrillex, Fred again… and Four Tet popped up in the middle of Times Square by providing a spectacular show for tourists and locals alike. Other notable artists who have appeared in the bus were BLOND:ISH, Baauer, and Ghastly. A unique aspect of the City Soul Bus is that the organizers do not just have artists who perform in just one or two genres but they invite artists who produce music from a diverse array of other musical styles.

As of this writing, the City Soul Bus organizers have so far raised $6,500, which still has not met their total goal of $20,000. The funds that the organizers are raising will go toward replacing the stolen equipment, tools and crucial bus repairs, as well as important bus security while parking at any future location moving forward. The news are shocking and sad for anyone who love the genuine vibes of making good memories right on the spot. Any donation to the fundraiser will surely help the team reach their targeted goal.
