Claude VonStroke returns with ‘I Was the Wolf’, a two-track EP marking his first release since stepping away from the Dirtybird label. Out on April 25th via his independent imprint, the EP also kicks off his new global tour, ‘Life of Leisure.’
Lead track ‘I Was the Wolf’ introduces a darker, more cinematic sound from the producer, blending analog textures and minimal grooves. Built around the rare Dreabox Murmux synth, it channels moody, Berlin-inspired atmospheres. The B-side ‘Move With the Pack’ contrasts with jazzy, immersive tones, showcasing VonStroke’s range and renewed creative direction.
After announcing his return, VonStroke described the EP as “garage boy energy reborn,” referencing early days spent splicing cassettes and building beats in ungrounded workspaces. The tour—touching down at venues like Knockdown Center NYC, Space Miami, KOKO London, and Panorama Bar Berlin—reflects his focus on personal, transformative club experiences.
