Coachella to bring augmented reality stage to the Sahara Tent

Coachella brings augmented reality stage to the Sahara Tent

As advances in visual technology have accelerated in the past decade, Coachella has worked to incorporate these breakthroughs into exciting attendee experiences. After snagging a Tupac hologram performance in 2012 and introducing Google-led tech exhibitions, Coachella has now announced their latest festival innovation–an augmented reality stage.

Located in the festival’s beloved Sahara tent, the augmented reality displays will feature sceneries from around the solar system, with three-dimensional images of black holes, space stations, and planets floating above the crowd and reacting to the surrounding noise and space. With the augmented reality at full force during set changes and through a series of additional filters available on Coachella’s iOS and Android apps, the AR experience at Coachella is truly a testing ground for all future festival experiences.
