Coachella Weekend 1 Finally Sells Out After Nearly a Month

Coachella tickets went on sale almost a month ago, and GA passes to Weekend 1 finally just sold out, the slowest ticket sales the festival has seen in years. Historically, Coachella tickets have sold out in within just a few hours, after stressed-out fans endured long virtual ticket queues. This year, tickets went on sale Friday, January 19th, and they only just sold out, although tickets for Weekend 2 are still available.
Is interest in festivals on the decline? Or is it the opposite, and fans are setting their sights on one of the thousands of other festivals across the globe? Maybe last year’s Coachella mishaps left a bad taste in attendees’ mouths, after the indisputable top headliner, Frank Ocean, left fans disappointed with his performance, before just pulling out of Weekend 2 altogether. It’s also possible inflation is to blame for decreased ticket sales, as Coachella ticket prices are now at a whopping $549+, despite tough times in the economy.
Coachella is set to return April 12th-14th and 19th-21st in Indio, California. This year’s lineup features Doja Cat, Tyler the Creator, Lana Del Rey, No Doubt, Charlotte de Witte, ISOxo & Knock2, Peggy Gou, Adriatique, Mall Grab, LE SSERAFIM, Reinier Zonneveld, Purple Disco Machine, BICEP, Anyma, Steve Angello, John Summit, Dom Dolla, Gesaffelstein, and more.
Time will tell if Weekend 2 of Coachella will sell out as well, or if the 2024 event will make history.
