Damian Lazarus finds second home for Day Zero in Israel
Damian Lazarus launched Day Zero in the Tulum jungle in honor of the end of the current Mayan calendar. Intended to ring in a new era of humanity and promote spiritual rejuvenation, the night-into-day event has since become a cross-sectional mecca of the underground electronic and transformational festival movements.
After years of searching for another place Day Zero could call home, Damian has finally found an equally alluring—and culturally significant—location in Israel’s Dead Sea region that can offer guests a similarly impactful experience to that in the jungles of Tulum. Day Zero Masada: Dwellers of the Dead Sea will take place at the Masada Arena on September 27, at the foot of the historic Masada mountain. It’s a location rich with history, and one that has connected societies across the ancient holy land, Jordan, and beyond for well over a millennia.
Day Zero Masada: Dwellers of the Dead Sea will be produced by Israeli mainstays Tripping productions, and Belgium’s Criaturas—known for their work with Tomorrowland. Its inaugural lineup will be announced in the coming weeks, but given Lazarus’ prime curatorial track record, expect there to be a full slate of forward-thinking house, techno, and electronica to enjoy.
