David Guetta takes on Chemical Brothers classic with new Jack Back single

David Guetta returns under his Jack Back alias with a remix of The Chemical Brothers‘ distinguished, “Hey Boy, Hey Girl,” conducting a collision of worlds as he updates the charged 90’s classic with tech and deep house sounds.

There’s a conception in dance music that just because an artist plays on the biggest stages with the brightest productions that they’ve lost touch with their roots, but recent trends set first by Guetta, and then Calvin Harris, have shown a steady return to the underground grooves that got them to the main stages to begin with. Jack Back’s latest release, re-titled “Superstar DJ,” is just that, allowing the percussive elements to drive the track’s energy while a surging house synth dances on the top line.

“Superstar DJ” marks David Guetta’s first return to Positiva Records since his 2011 LP, Nothing But The Beat.
