Diplo throwing block party fundraiser to benefit Burning Man theme camps
To put on an event like Burning Man takes a village…and then some. Everyone that participates in the massive cultural gathering each year contributes to the event’s complexion in one way or another, and this year Diplo is lending a helping hand in the best way he knows how—throwing a bumping block party. Though, unlike his infamous Mad Decent Block Parties on the past, this party is being thrown to benefit Burning Man’s theme camps, specifically Camp Questionmark, a frequent performance spot for Diplo on the Playa, the Opulent Temple, Root Society, and Duck Pond.
The upcoming event, dubbed The Menagerie, goes down on July 6 in San Francisco at The Midway. The bill is topped by Diplo presenting “Higher Ground,” likely connected to his recently released house EP of the same name. Phase one’s supporting talent also includes Mr. Carmack, Jonas Rathsman, Kenny Glasgow, Sharam, and more. The Menagerie will feature two outdoor stages and two indoor stages, with proceeds from the day going to benefit some of the most integral parts of the annual Burning Man congregation.
