Diplo's Stagecoach performance to broadcast on Sirius XM
Diplo‘s closing performance at Indio Valley country music festival, Stagecoach, proved that the electronic virtuoso wasn’t as much of an event outlier as many originally believed. Diplo capitalized on Stagecoach’s status as the highest-grossing country music festival currently in operation to debut his brand new remix of Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ viral sensation, “Old Town Road.” The multi-genre producer brought out both Lil Nas X and Cyrus, as well as Sam Hunt to perform the electronic-country crossover, much to the delight of the lively Stagecoach crowd.
Diplo’s rework of “Old Town Road” is evidence that Diplo knows how to strike in the commercial music market: when the proverbial sonic iron is hot. Fortunately for country music listeners, Diplo fans, and all those in favor of the “Close To Me” collaborator’s foray into western sound constructions alike, Diplo’s Stagecoach showing will soon broadcast on Diplo’s Sirius XM channel, Diplo’s Revolution. XM subscribers can tune in to channel 52 to catch the set at 5 p.m. EST April 30.
