Disclosure switch gears with new afro-beat feature, 'Etran' [Stream]
It has been a whirlwind week for Disclosure, with the Lawrence brothers dropping off a handful of new goodies to officially mark the end of a quiet hiatus from the duo. Coming through with three consecutive cuts in three days, all leaning towards the house and disco corners of the spectrum, their fourth successive release finds them linking with Niger-based band Etran Finatawa for a grooving afro-beat-inspired collaboration titled “Etran.”
Traditional chants mesh with a textured array of sounds that allow Disclosure’s keen production sensibilities to fill the shape of a new container, culminating in a unique stylistic departure for the Caracal producers. With a brand new mix out and a slew of performance dates underway, the pair clearly have a trove of unheard material up their sleeves, and so far the slow drip of new music has proven to be an exciting introduction to a new chapter for Disclosure.
