DJ Snake and Eptic pair for fiery, ‘SouthSide’
To some Millennials, “SouthSide” might stir nostalgia around the mellow 2004 classic with Lloyd and Ashanti. DJ Snake and Eptic have arrived to take the “SouthSide” reigns, however, and what they’ve done is created a piece that is catastrophically satisfying for those who enjoy a heavy dose of bass in their musical palette. The tune features sinister note progressions and dramatic builds, only to drop into an utter explosion of robotic sound effects and bass that is designed to blow brains out. It’s violent, headbang-worthy, and primed to become a festival season anthem.
“SouthSide” comes just a week after DJ Snake’s last effort on his label First Classe—a sleek, midtempo collaboration with Plastic Toy. The French superstar has had a promising 2019 so far, producing hits with Tyga and G-Eazy while earning yet another landmark achievement with “Taki Taki” earning one billion streams in just four months.
