Electric Island forced to change venue due to Toronto Island flooding
Toronto’s Electric Island series has returned for the 2019 season, now facing their upcoming second event of the summer. What stemmed from an intimate summer gathering in 2012 has now blossomed into a four-part summer series, bringing the best of the city’s talent to the forefront for each unique event. As the city draws near their annual Pride weekend festivities, Electric Island is set to join suit with their own homage to the celebrated weekend with their second event of the season—but in a different location.
Recruiting a wide selection of local and international talent, Electric Island welcomes headliners Seth Troxler, DJ Harvey, and BLOND:ISH for the second event in their series, among a talented display of supporting artists. Attendees have the opportunity to discover music between the event’s main and Moog Audio stages, with the latter being headlined by LGBTQ+ underground icons, Honey Soundsystem to close out the night.
The summer event series adopted its name from its home grounds on Toronto Island, but recent flooding has forced event organizers to temporarily relocate to Woodbine Park for the outdoor event on June 22.
