Electronic Music Conference is back, announces EMC Live with $500 grants for artists

Australia’s Electronic Music Conference is back, now in it’s eighth year paving the way for an experience like no other that puts music makers in the same room as industry professionals across days of workshops, events and intimate panels.

Having popped along last year and even spoke on a panel, EMC is a legitimate pathway for artists to find out the in’s and out’s of the music business and how to further your career while meeting those on the same journey as you are.

The biggest connect for aspiring artists though is EMC Live, which offers your chance to submit your music with the potential to be selected and perform live in-front of industry heavyweights from around the world and join previous performers including Cosmo’s Midnight, Crooked Colours, Dom Dolla, Hayden James, Rainbow Chan, Set Mo and more.

Once again Triple J’s Dave Ruby Howe heads up EMC Live and will be musing over your applications and figuring out who gets a shot at performing live across two nights, November 13th and 14th at The Lansdowne Hotel.

“I was personally very stoked with the applications that came through to perform at EMC in 2018, representing the brightest up and comers in the country who’re now cementing themselves on the scene. 2019 is set to be another great year as we know that Australia is such a creative hotbed when it comes to emerging artists from across the electronic spectrum. More than ever, it feels like there’s more great music being made but there’s an increasing competitiveness to have your music heard currently – with EMC we’ll get to give the best new dance and electronic musicians a chance to show their wares live and get a leg up to the next stage of their careers.” – Dave Ruby Howe

All up 16 artists will be chosen to share the stage at EMC LIVE in 2019. In a pioneering move, this year EMC will introduce a $500 bursary/grant for each performing artist at EMC LIVE – a huge step up for any aspiring artist.
