Exclusive: Afrojack hand-picks crop of emerging DJs for new EP ‘Global Remix Battle I’ [Stream]
When you’ve been in the game as long Afrojack has, cranking out club-dominating hits is only so fulfilling. At this stage in the veteran Dutch DJ’s career, he’s looking at developing the next wave of talent and discovering the next crop of electronic hitmakers. Hot off the heels of a new collaboration with Rae Sremmurd, “Sober,” Afrojack has dropped off a brand new remix EP, Global Remix Battle I, featuring five new up-and-comers, each hand-picked by Afrojack as the winners of a world-wide talent search. The winners featured on the EP are producers Buzz Low and Exlau, both from the Netherlands, Finnish DJ Chipcat, Italy’s DES3ETT, and Tokyo-native HIROKI, each offering their own renditions of Afrojack’s “Let It Rip” from his recent Press Play EP.
The EP is now available on all digital streaming platforms Afrojack’s own Wall Recordings in conjunction with Armada Music. The “Bring It Back” producer honed in one these five new production talents, sorting through remix submissions from 129 different countries over a span of six months. Now, while Buzz Low, Exlau, Chipcat, DES3ETT, and HIROKI might not yet be household names yet, with a minted Afrojack co-sign, all five producers seem primed for greatness.
