Shaquille O’Neal has done many things in his life, an NBA champion, a sports analyst and a complete icon. But, when he steps into the DJ booth as DJ Diesel, he’s all in on bass. On July 26, DJ Diesel returns to Bootshaus, one of the most respected electronic music clubs in the world, for a night of pure bass music. This marks his third appearance at Bootshaus, a venue that continues to embrace his heavyweight energy and booming style. Joining him for the night are San Holo, Riot Ten, Ivory, Samplifire, and resident DJ Emin. This is a lineup curated to shake foundations and leave no room for subtlety.
From Center Court to Center Stage
Since diving into DJ-ing around 2015, Shaq has built one of the most unexpected and successful second acts in music. At 2.16 meters tall, he proudly brands himself as the Biggest DJ in the World. Let’s be honest, the title fits him best. He’s become a regular performer at major festivals like Tomorrowland, EDC, Lost Lands, and Lollapalooza. He combines crowd-thrilling stage presence with a love for all things bass.
With over 30 performances booked for the summer 2025 alone, DJ Diesel is as active on the festival circuit as any full-time touring artist. What sets him apart isn’t just his name recognition—it’s his genuine passion for the music. From jumping into mosh pits to dunking basketballs mid-set, he’s turned listening DJ Diesel into an experience.
Bootshaus: A Club Built for Chaos
Hosting Diesel’s return is Bootshaus, the Cologne, Germany based club specifically in the Deutz area. Originally a storage and repair facility for boats, it has transformed into one of the world’s top clubs, and consistently voted as one of Germany’s best clubs. With a 1,800-person capacity Bootshaus features four distinct floors, each with its own vibe and aesthetic, including the bass-focused BLCKBX and the Mainfloor with a custom L-Acoustics sound system for an immersive experience.
This is the place where underground energy meets classy production, with past guests like Amelie Lens, DJ Snake, and now Diesel himself returning for another round. Alongside local talents and resident DJs such as Brandon, Dave Replay, Emin, Isis Cloudt, Kevin Arnold, and Oliver Magenta. Bootshaus also hosts festivals like Blacklist and Nibirii, curating diverse gigs ranging from psychedelic trance to heavy bass music. It also hosts gigs and unique events like Bootshaus on a Ship that takes place on the River Rhine.
This is an 18+ event and tickets are available via Bootshaus’s official ticketing platform. Given that last year’s show sold out, we recommend booking in advance. Doors open July 26, and once they do, Cologne becomes the epicenter of bass music for one glorious night. Whether you’re a longtime DJ Diesel fan or just ready to feel your ribcage rattle, Bootshaus is the place to be.
