We’re sure you’ve heard the news about Facebook changing its algorithms in an attempt to prioritise friends’ and family’s content over that from Pages.
Well figures have popped up and let’s be real, they’re not great. We were expecting smaller numbers but nothing like we were shown, and those getting hit hardest are the artists.
The results published from Buffer of 43 million Facebook page posts showed Artist Pages on average had an engagement drop of 70.6 per cent! Us media pages weren’t too far behind showing an average engagement drop of 64 per cent. You can check the full figures below.
What does this mean for Artists? Well the study also showed that pages were now posting more, with an increase of 24 per cent and it seems that they’re also trying to find a way to utilise other platforms.
With these new changes it seems surely we’re all going to have worse user experiences, but I guess only time will tell! Check out the study here and tell us your experiences, have you been missing posts and news from your favourite artists?
