Since becoming the second artist signed to Pryda Recordings, Fehrplay has placed himself atop the progressive house ladder. His career expanded even further upon being signed to the Armada Trice label, an outlet that allows his music farther reach across the dance sphere while also enabling him to set a standard for other rising artists on the imprint.
His latest offering Armada is Annie/Solidus, with its A-side “Annie” having been chosen as Armin van Buuren’s “progressive pick of the week” on ASOT’s 774th episode. It can be easily defined as a quintessential Swedish progressive house piece, with Prydz’ influence on Fehrplay revealing itself through bubbly synth melodies and delightful arpeggios.
“Solidus” finishes the EP off on a retro-inspired note, integrating hints of funky keyboard riffs into atmospheric chords and pronounced cymbals to provide a classic touch. Pairing with new talent Richard Knott, the two artists make the EP’s B-side into an impactful track that will play out well in arena settings.
