First Listen: Rising house duo, Ship Wrek, drops groovy new original, 'Mirror Mirror' – EDM All Day
Los Angeles-based duo Ship Wrek has been making waves this year with an onslaught of high-quality house tracks. The previously trap and future bass oriented “Captains of the Club” set sail with new genres in mind when they released their “Party” in December of last year.
Since then, the two have gained massive momentum with originals such as “Super Freak” and “Energy” catching the eyes of superstars Dillon Francis and The Chainsmokers. Their edit of Dog Blood‘s “Turn Off the Lights” became one of the most sought out tunes of the year, gaining the coveted support of Skrillex himself. As the year comes to a close, and their house rebrand approaches its one-year anniversary, the two are blessing listeners with yet another phenomenal offering, “Mirror Mirror.”
“Mirror Mirror” is set to become a house anthem of the new year. Ship Wrek’s tongue-in-cheek flair is seen in the vocal cut, “Who’s the baddest bitch of all?” followed by a groovy, dance-floor destroying drop. If you’ve been following Ship Wrek throughout the year, you’ll recognize this coveted ID from both their live shows and their 1001Tracklists guest mix. We can’t wait to see what’s still to come from our favorite sonic seamen in 2020.
