This one isn’t our usual style of Friday Mix, but when this one came back to our attention we couldn’t pass it up.
This radio mix, now 12 years old came at a time when hip-hop DJing was at a peak. This mix featured on a popular strictly hip-hop radio station and despite being super against the grain, it was absolutely loved.
Some of the effects and transitions might seem a little tacky by todays standards, but it took true skill to mix between genres, keep it interesting and keep it somehwat smooth. From Blur to Michael Jackson to Fatman Scoop and everything in between and outside of, this mix reminds us of the true beauty of freeform DJing.
