Good Morning Mix: Kampire delivers an immaculate set from Nile River shore

Kampire calls Uganda home, but her sets have transcended the region to earn her well-deserved global recognition. Her mixes are renowned for their originality and incorporation of multiple genres in unique ways, and her set at Nyege Nyege Festival in 2018 is a prime showcase of her skill set. Throughout the performance, Kampire flows between energies with ease, tackling an assortment of rhythmic styles without ever sounding disjointed.

In addition to Kampire’s immaculate performance, the festival’s setting helps make this set a treat to watch. Nyege Nyege Festival, East Africa’s premier electronic festival, takes place each year in the Ugandan forest just off the banks of the Nile River. In 2018, Boiler Room streamed multiple sets over the course of the festival, but Kampire’s was a clear stand out. The crowd’s energy, the beautiful outdoor stage, and Kampire’s genre-blending mixing come together to make this set a great way to shake away the morning blues.
