Gorillaz link with slowthai and Slaves on 'Momentary Bliss,' announce new docu-series, 'Song Machine'

Gorillaz have never been shy about working with rappers—the virtual band’s catalog boasts work with rappers ranging from Del The Funky Homosapien to Snoop Dogg. Adding to those ranks, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett have linked with British wavemaker slowthai and Slaves on “Momentary Bliss.” The band has also announced an upcoming project titled Song Machine—an episodic series that documents the creation of new music. Episode one, released January 30, centers around “Momentary Bliss.”

Song Machine once again highlights Gorillaz’s increasingly innovative approach in a modern and rapidly evolving release landscape. The nature of this latest project’s surprise delivery is the characteristically atypical quality that defines the Gorillaz project. Alongside each installment of the docu-series comes an additional treat called “Machine Bitez.” The feature will include snippets of conversations being held between the cartoon band members and real life collaborators.
