Norwegian producer Gouldian Finch, also known as Martin Horntveth, has revisited his acclaimed 2023 album ‘Hatch’. Now available through All Ape, this remix project features collaborations with a diverse range of artists.
The venture offers a sonic journey, combining nu-wave jazz and electronica from the original album. ‘Hatch Remixed’ reinforces Gouldian Finch’s reputation as a genre-defying artist.
Key concepts from ‘Hatch’ are interwoven with creative contributions from global musicians. Notable collaborations include German composer and producer Pantha du Prince and Norwegian instrumental trio, Orions Belte. Pantha du Prince incorporates his minimal techno and noise style into ‘The Flamingo’, while Orions Belte reinvents ‘Stuck In The Matrix’ into an energetic piece that conjures images of a lakeside retreat or a road trip, all while preserving the song’s core motifs.
Discussing the album, Gouldian Finch stated, “On ‘Hatch remixed’ I have reached out to many of my big heroes such as Jamie Lidell, Bogdan Raczynski, Lindstrøm, and Pantha du Prince. These are artists who have inspired me for over 20 years and whom it is an honor to have on the record and to have gotten to know. Some more recent acquaintances such as Daedelus, Burnt Friedman, Kentaro Hayashi, and Giri. Last but not least, my good friends and masterminds Petter Eldh, Bendik HK, Orions Belte, WIZRD, Instant K, Pow Pow, Nurse Bob (Simen of Aiming for Enrike), and Andreas Rotevatn have helped enrich this album with awesome musical highlights.”
