Grimes and will.i.am Will Judge the First-Ever Avatar Music Competition

Canadian EDM hitmaker Claire Boucher, famously known as Grimes along with the Grammy award-winning electronic music producer and former Black Eyed Peas lead singer Will.i.am recently joined the judges’ lineup for the world’s first Avatar singing competition titled “Alter Ego,” which will debut later this year on Fox.

The contestants signing up for “Alter Ego” won’t be performing as themselves, physically speaking. Instead, they will be given the opportunity to design their own virtual avatars and control them via motion capture technology. In other words, they will be creating their own alter egos, as the name of the show suggests.

The aim of the show is to encourage talented musicians in showcasing not just their musical talents but also their fashion and artistic styles. After all, with the power of digital technology, the sky’s the limit.
