Habstrakt defends bass house supremacy with first Insomniac Records signing, 'Show Me'
Despite the coronavirus’ most daring efforts, artists have yet to be withheld an outlet to maintain their crowd testing efforts. Habstrakt did exactly that when he stepped into Insomniac‘s booth during their HARD Summer virtual festival in early April, sharing a total of four unrecognized cuts. Only a handful of weeks later, one of them has been uncovered as Habstrakt fittingly makes his first-ever Insomniac Records appearance with “Show Me.”
Acting as his third single in just the past four months, “Show Me” wastes little time forming visions of grandeur into what could have been this summer. Habstrakt’s flexes the entirety of his bass house rolodex as he affirms the reasoning behind his stature as one of the genre’s most respected talents. In a statement upon the track’s release, the Frenchman provided some context into how it came to fruition:
“I went and messed around with a UK bassline on this one, something I can’t really say I’ve ever done before. Wrote this one in southern France during my holidays in November last year, and it’s been destroying dancefloors all over the world ever since. This record is about breaking boundaries, about me showing all the faces of my house.”
