Hakkasan Nightclub unveils its Hakkasan Grid, the largest kinetic light installation in the US

During EDC week, Hakkasan Nightclub celebrated the unveiling of The Hakkasan Grid, a ceiling art installation introduced with a performance by Tiësto. The 30-foot, 12,000-pound Hakkasan Grid creates infinite shapes from flowers, cones, waves and more, adding to the Vegas nightclub’s already-immersive sensory experience. It’s the largest kinetic light installation in the United States, and it’s the only ceiling to be pixel-mappable and capable of color mixing, allowing fully customized images and patterns to flow between triangles seamlessly.

Performances by Steve Aoki and Calvin Harris followed Tiësto, as the avant-garde designed light installation was unveiled to the public. The Grid is made of 57 4-foot sculptural triangles that combine to form a 30-foot
showpiece connected 169 high-precision winches that can transform the nightclub’s musical landscape into infinite shapes and colors above the dance floor. Each triangle was custom-designed and 3D printed with premium materials from German brand KINECTIC LIGHTS.

James Algate, executive vice president of entertainment at Hakkasan Group, said in a press release, “The nightlife industry requires constant evolution and excellence, and we pride ourselves on consistently rising to this challenge and providing our guests with unforgettable, transformative experiences. We’re thrilled to yet again push the boundaries of nightlife with the new Hakkasan Grid. We’re confident that guests will be blown away by this futuristic, multi-sensory experience we’ve created.”
