Hardwell and Trevor Guthrie prepare for the warm weather with crossover ballad 'Summer Air'

Last September, Hardwell broke the news to his fans that he would be taking an indefinite leave of absence from touring. But while he may not be getting behind the decks, his production output has been driven tenfold. The Dutchman is now securing his fourth release in the first five months of this calendar year by joining forces with vocalist Trevor Guthrie, who is most notably recognized for his features on Axwell Λ Ingrosso’sDreamer” and Armin van Buuren’sThis Is What It Feels Like“. Memorial Day weekend typically signifies the launch of the widespread summer aura so Hardwell and Guthrie are moving hastily on the first New Music Friday immediately following with their crossover, “Summer Air”.

Hardwell expeditiously designs a beachside backdrop on “Summer Air” that’s comprised of guitar-induced acoustics and inspiriting synths, which introduce itself behind Trevor Guthrie’s memorable lyrics. A horn-led progressive chorus enables the collaboration to become a flawless merger between the dance and pop cosmos as the pairing aims to infiltrate radio airwaves in the approaching season. “Summer Air” is another piece of indisputable evidence that whether it’s Hardwell’s quintessential bigroom approach or his more radio-friendly productions, the output has persistently remained world class.

Throughout the YouTube premiere of the music video for “Summer Air”, Hardwell appeared in the comments for a rare question and answer session with his fans. He gave some background on the single, stating that he asked Guthrie to assist on the final version after feeling “inspired” by the original demo and that he actually worked on it inside of his favorite bar in his hometown of Breda. He also confirmed that his long-awaited ‘Oldschool ID’ would arrive before the year’s conclusion alongside collaborations with Quintino, Deorro and MAKJ.

“Summer Air” is officially out now Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings or the vibrant visuals in the music video.
